Maintaining your air conditioning system is one of the most important things you could do, especially here in the state of Texas. We need our air conditioner roughly 9 months out of the year, so it is crucial to have a licensed professional from Bacon inspect your system to make sure your AC is in tip-top shape. Regular maintenance will keep your system running as efficiently as possible.

The two components of your air conditioning that need to be cleaned in order for it to function properly include the air filter near the supply air and the condenser coils around the outside unit. Your functioning electrical components in your outside HVAC units operate your fan and your compressor, both of which help pump cool air into your home and are responsible for your day-to-day comfort.

The outside surface of the unit is your condenser coil. You want to make sure that it’s free of debris, grass, leaves, and anything that could blow into your yard. Ultimately, excess debris around your condenser coil could affect the performance of the entire unit. If the unit is dirty, it will elevate your operating temperature and burn up the motor and the compressor, which could cause long-term damage to the entire unit.

If the filter is dirty in your home, it can affect the flow of refrigerant throughout the system and could be detrimental to your compressor. Keeping your outside unit and air filters clean are the two most important things you could do along with scheduling routine maintenance to extend the longevity of your system.
