Anything that gets caught in your faucet can cause debris to build up around your faucet’s aerators. If the faucet’s water is running slower than usual, it might be time to clean out your aerators. To clean the aerators, you should follow these steps:
- Loosen the aerator with a wrench or pliers (put a cloth over the cap so as not to damage it with the wrench).
- Take the cap off once it loosens.
- Take apart the aerator but remember the order of the parts so that you can put them back correctly.
- Flush the aerator screen and water restrictor with water.
- If necessary, use a needle to unclog smaller parts of the aerator screen.
- Reassemble the aerator and screw it back onto the faucet.
Water Heater
